Small but mighty Fulham contingent makes mark in Sunny Beckenham

Fulham Running Club women's team at the start of cross country

We had a small but mighty turnout for the Southern XC Championships this afternoon. 8 brave ladies and 2 heroic men ventured to Beckenham Place park for a sunny run, around a very lovely park, alongside the other running clubs of Southern England.

The courses were mostly okay underfoot with a few boggy patches, nicely churned from all the junior races earlier in the day. Both the men's and women's races featured one quite horrible hill, that we had to do twice but that didn't stop the bandits.

Mighty few, mighty fast: Ladies smash team goals!

The ladies were up first at 1:30pm, for a two lap, 8k (ish) course. Hannah led the Fulham charge and finished in 29:32 and a very respectable 37th place. Hannah was closely followed by Leslie in 30:17 (52nd place), Sophie McK in 32:09 and Clare C in 33:46, to complete the Fulham Ladies scoring team. The scoring team finished 11th overall, out of 37 qualifying clubs, beating local rivals Clapham Chasers and Serpentine! Not bad at all!

Hill repeat heroics: Callum & Tom take on the Beast!

An hour later the boys were up. Huge shout out to Callum and Tom who represented the Fulham Gents and ran a 15k (ish) course- brutal! Callum finished in 54:18 and Tom in 60:18- Amazing! Unfortunately we didn't have enough men to score for the team but both ran really well and should be very proud.

Mud, Sweat, and Smiles: A Race to Remember!

Well done all! Feeling inspired? Want something to enhance your road running and racing? Please join us for the final Surrey League race on the 10th Feb at Lloyd Park, Croydon. It would be great to have the biggest turnout of the season yet!

Any questions, please ask. Happy running!
